Fallout 4 - The Wastelander's Guide To The Best Weapons And Their Locations

This is my first attempt at writing any kind of guide but no better time and reason than a huge game like Fallout 4. Being a specific type of player when it comes to games like these I always want the best weapons that fit my play style. This guide will include the locations of Legendary weapons and armor found throughout the game. These will be the weapons and armor that are found at specific locations or obtained during specific quest. This guide will not include the seemingly random drops, such as nocturnal weapons, obtained from legendary raiders and alike. This is by no means a complete list and only includes weapons I've found at this point. If you have other weapons you've found please leave the name and location in the comments or send us an email and I will include them in the guide as well. This guide will be split into different sections: Melee, Ballistic, Laser/Plasma, and Armor/Outfits. The entries will be as spoiler free as possible and may include a picture of the weapon's perks and alike. Hover over the picture in order to see the location and the requirements for the item. Hovering over will also state if the weapon in the picture is modified in any way. If it has been it will simply say "Modded"

Melee Weapons

Modded

Location: Jamaica Plain (South of the Combat Zone)

This weapon is received at the end of a quest that is started at the location. The place is lousy with feral ghouls so come prepared. A high lockpicking skill will make this a lot easier but is not necessary

Location: Hubris Comics

This weapon is acquired through a quest given in the memory den of Goodneighbor by Kent Connolly. The quest can also be started by listening to the Silver Shroud radio broadcast. Lots of feral ghouls at the comic shop so come prepared. The weapon is locked in a case right at the entrance. If you cant unlock it the key to open it is somewhere in the building.

Location: Dunwich Borers (Quarrys West of the Witchcraft Museum)

This is possibly the best melee weapon i've found yet. Poison and bleeding on hit not to mention it looks badass. This place is crawling with high level raiders (some in power armor), turrents, traps, and feral ghouls. Go into the caverns at the bottom of the quarry. Once underground follow the tunnels until you reach the end. You'll come across a pool of water in the final room. You'll also have to do some swimming to find the weapon so maybe bring a mirelurk cake.

Laser / Plasma

Heavily Modded

Location: Cambridge Police Station (North of Diamond City near C.I.T)

This can be received pretty early in the game. You'll get it after completing the first Brotherhood of Steel quest. When your in the area you'll get a distress signal on your pip-boy radio. You dont need to be too high of a level to get this weapon as you be accompained by someone who can more than handle themselves. Follow and complete that quest and you'll have a good energy weapon early on. 

Modded

Location: University Point (South of Combat Zone, East of Jamaica Plaine)

This is a neat gun that when modded correctly could be a real pain in the ass for anyone on the receiving end of it. Clear the area of synths and watch out for the occasional trap and head in through the back entrance of the bank. You will need master level lockpicking and expert hacking to get this weapon

Armor / Outfits / Power Armor

Location: Hubris Comics

You'll find this in the same place as the Grognak Axe in the melee section. Visit Kent Connolly in the memory den of Goodneighbor or tune in to the Silver Shroud radio show when you get close to trigger the quest. Nothing but feral ghouls here so bring some stimpaks and radaway

Modded

Location: Cambridge Polymer Labs (South of Cambridge Police Station)

This quest can be triggered by a wandering eyebot with a transmission or just by entering the building and taking to the Mrs. Handy robot inside. The place is filled with feral ghouls and radioactive material. You'll find a hazmat suit on site but you should still bring some rad-x and radaway. You'll need to read some of the entries on the terminals in order to use the right materials to make this chest piece.
